On our 11/9/15 call, we will gather to reflect on what has happened in our lives and our universes since our September call.
So much is going on in our personal lives ... some are experiencing loss, grief, health and financial issues. Some are experiencing abundance, joy, gratitude. The imbalance and the balance.
As a peacebuilding group, some attended the recent Peace Alliance conference and lobbied in Washington, DC. Some AMPLIFIED our voices from afar by contacting our legislators and urging them to cosponsor peacebuilding legislation. Some worked on personal peace, some on community peace. National and international events continue to evoke shock and to inspire awe.
When Pope Francis recently addressed Congress, he said it is the responsibility of members of Congress "to enable this country, by your legislative activity, to grow as a nation ... You are called to defend and preserve the dignity of your fellow citizens in the tireless and demanding pursuit of the common good, for this is the chief aim of all politics ... legislative activity is always based upon care for the people."
What is the common good? How do we dwell within that space?
We will reflect on all of this, report on our recent and upcoming actions, and dialogue with each other.
We will pause to breathe in and breathe out the gratitude for our family, our friends, our peacebuilding community and our world and universal community. We will begin to be the joy of the holiday season. Please join the call to internalize the gratitute of who we really are.
Pure awareness is available in every moment ... When we just pause and relax, we find a gap between thoughts.
When we reside there, we find the very thing we have been seeking all along. This is the nirvana for those who are longing for spiritual liberation. The sign of authentic spiritual awakening is that we don't want anything else.
Then, finally, we figure out that this human life can be ridiculously fun. - Anam Thubten, The Magic of Awareness
