Empowering civic activism toward a culture of peace.
For the past four years Miki Kashtan from BayNVC has been working with us to support our capacity to be the peace we want to create. She has been doing monthly drop-in calls with our grassroots volunteers, which have been getting rave reviews.
Now, for the first time, Miki will be offering a full course in NVC, designed exclusively for supporters of The Peace Alliance. Our goal in putting together this class, called "Be the Peace", is to increase integrity and effectiveness in the work of the organization through learning the tools of NVC. Whether you are a committed volunteer or a supporter from afar who wants to increase your personal capacity to cultivate peace in your own life -- this class is for you.
Each session focuses on one topic and includes written materials and individual work ahead of time, along with coaching, empathy, and further teaching during the call. You will be invited, in addition, to bring up any challenges or topics that may not be covered specifically in the sessions as planned.
The class is offered at a significantly reduced cost to make it accessible to as many people as possible: $60 for 12 hours of instruction (you will also have an opportunity to contribute more if you resources allow and you feel moved to do so).
The themes and dates of each session are:
Session 1 - NVC Principles as a Practice of Peace
Wednesday, September 9, 5:30 - 7:30 pm Pacific time.
Session 2 - Moving Towards What We Want
Wednesday, September 23, 5:30 - 7:30 pm Pacific time.
