Comment by Luisa Rodriguez Connal on June 8, 2011 at 12:53am: I have reached another point in life's journey where I am reflecting on expectations I had for myself and the concept of world peace. Ever the idealist I expected more progress along the lines of increasing world peace at the turn of the century. That was changed dramatically and undeniably during the past ten years.

We are at war again. We need the Department of Peace as a place where we can focus strategies for peace in place of war and the human wreckage created by war.

I'd like to do more than teach and read about the importance of peace and collaborations among the people of the world. Learning about the work to create a cabinet level Department of Peace encourages me to have something greater than myself to work on.

I look forward to learning of events in Arizona that I can attend.
