When and how do you propose to start PEACE EDUCATION in a way so that it is accepted globally?

I just created a petition entitled To replace Violent Time with Peace Time: Peace Time will make PEACE AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF DEVELOPMENT, because I care deeply about this very important issue.

I'm trying to collect as many signatures, and I could really use your help.

To read more about what I'm trying to do and to sign my petition, click here:
http://www.change.org/petitions/to-replace-violent-time-with-peace-...

It'll just take a minute!

Once you're done, please ask your friends to sign the petition as well. Grassroots movements succeed because people like you are willing to spread the word!

The Tulsa Peace Fellowship just started a peace building course last night, Thursday April 8th 2010, on non-violent communication. We're using Pace e Bene's textbook "Engage: Exploring Non-violent Living." This is a self-directed course, over the next 5 to 10 months, which we are offering in the first instance for the sake of TPF / Peace House staff development. This is the second time this course is being pursued in Tulsa, the last time being in 2007. Oklahoma City will also be using this text book for their course, coming up this Fall, in September 2010.

Queremos Paz.

Hello! I am a Montessori teacher at a public magnet school. I teach 7th and 8th grade all subjects. I also write a blog that is a 365 day experiment with peace at http://peaceisachoice.tumblr.com/
I am also a writer and you can read more about my current writing projects at http://peggyepatesmith.weebly.com/
I won an award from the American Montessori Society for my thesis, Impications of Peace in the Montessori Environment It is available on line at the AMS website if you would like to read it.
One book I would highly recommend even if you are not a Christian is the book, Jesus and Non-Violence, the Third Way by Walter Wink, this slim book gives fantastic examples of real life examples from all over the world of people using peace to change their lives and communities.

Great to see you all! I have not been on in a while, but now with the New Year, I am back to trying to keep up with all my e-groups! A faculty member and I are actually designing two university-level courses incorporating peace studies, and have been perusing the many books out there! Any recommendations? I've been reading the classic "I'd Rather Teach Peace" - anyone else out there read it??
