What first attracted you to peace activism?
Today MLK day inspired me to look at his works and words; I thought about two things: the homelss people here at the home front how they are treated in the homeless shelters and in the community...then abroad where I was born in Uganda how masses are oppressed by ruthless militants and I think them masses need education to learn they can shape their own desitiny.

The Homeless Need A Voice

Hollywood has done its fair share of depicting the homelss as "bad" people...probably its about time they help change that perception cause they can.We the public take that TV picture of the homeless and we put them the homeless in a sub human category. In many states if not all it is a crime to be homeless. Some businesses call the police to come take away the "human garbage"!The shelters then do as they please on the homeless. The shelter staff treat these homeless people like garbage oh my!There is a lady down in Texas her name is Saphire Jule King she helped Rhode Island be the first nation to give some civil rights to the homeless people. Please goggle her I do not remember her organizations name now but it is something worth thinking about. Many homeless people are women single mothers victim of domesic violence, they find themselves in another hole in the homeless shelters that are supposed to protect them.Oh yeah I found her site it is incredible...http://sapphirejuleking.com/
