CHALK4PEACE happens again this September for the fourth time worldwide.
We are expecting locations in 30 countries, some 350-500 sites, in schools,
museums, libraries, plazas and neighborhoods that will bring the spirit of
peace simultaneously to the planet throughout the month of September.
This event used enough sidewalk chalk last year to cover eight football fields.
We expect you to help us double to triple the size this year...
We ask you to tell us where… Continue

This was recently published in the Santa Rosa, CA Press Democrat.
Please feel free to adapt or copy but do check the requirements in
any paper you choose to send to. They each have different length
requirements, and most do not want to publish a letter that appeared
Note: I'd love it if people would share their published letters/articles
so we could get more info out there. Many people read letters to

Who do you desire to speak for you, those who promote anger or those who promote peace? most often what you give, you receive. If you have a leader who angers others, that anger is returned to you. We need to always seek peaceful leaders in all things, if we desire peace. How do you look into someones heart? To do so, you see the soul of the person. Should we hear their word as we most often do before we vote or should we look at their past actions toward others? Looking at the past, do we fail… Continue

I think that we, as humans, have to begin to struggle, think about, and deal with more complex issues that are inter-related but seldom discussed, like how do we regain our humanity, our sense of purpose in life, and ability to see the forest for the trees. Not only that, we must go beyond the blindness of nationalism and militarism and see things as they are and not how they appear to be. we need to become humanitarians first. We must also change...change ourselves, our mindsets, each other,… Continue

Amidst the non-stop media reminders that we live in a violent society, every once in awhile comes a story that offers an amount of hope. One such story is about the work of a group called Aim4Peace
in Kansas City, Missouri. Aim4Peace recruits and trains ex-convicts and puts them to work to prevent future convicts. The street-savvy Aim4Peace "violence interrupters"… Continue

In 2002, my wife and I found this small two bedroom farm house with 101.5 acres of land. The house was built in 1927 and needed repairs but we saw it's potential. Today our small house has a new heat pump and plumbing and is painted. We have started repairing the windows and as I speak, roofers are hammering overhead with our new roof. We have had to turn a few quests away over the years due to on going repairs but we are happy. Our two son's love our house and the endless " Hundred-acre woods"… Continue

Been going to a practice group off and on for a couple months now, when I've been in town or not crazy busy. I've tried to make it a priority, and have found the sessions really of great value, and am naturally looking to make NVC more natural in my day to day life. Any suggestions? Thanks! I live by the way in DC.

So here I am. A team leader. Whenever I talk to a new group of volunteers I always say, "Make no mistake. This is a political action" I've got the politics down. Lobbying is after all a political action. I have found that there is something lacking in my approach to this. It is the very essence of The Peace Alliance. Compassion, pure and simple. How can I better serve my fellow human beings. There's a man I Taos who has started a Food Instead of Bombs, movement. Many of our brothers and sisters… Continue
