Hello Caitlin! Great! The first step is interest. I'm sure you'll hear from national organizers on this, too. There are document on The Student Peace Alliance section of that can get you started, including a guide for the general campaign to work with the SPA, so be sure to contact your state coordinator and/or local congressional district team leaders listed in the Act Locally section as well. I believe the materials will also guide you to check into your college's student group procedures/practices as well. Finding a teacher to act as an advisor/advocate from your peace studies, conflict resolution, restorative justice, or a number of other fields will likely make it easier and more enjoyable for you, too! My experience as a state coordinator in Illinois is that many students are interested (from tabling at other campus events, special events, class visits); the challenge is in holding meetings and communicating regularly through student leaders and including succession planning among the student leaders.

Hey everyone, I want to start a Student Peace Alliance chapter on my campus. Although, I am not sure how to go about starting it or how to figure out if people are interested. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks
