What first attracted you to peace activism?
I was a student at Oberlin College '81 and then joined the Women's Encampment for a Future of Peace and Justice ('83-'87), drawn there for other issues, but then began to see all the links - political and personal. I have been a Boston Public Schools History and Civics teacher for 17 years, and very concerned by the ways that unresolved Trauma make it very difficult for many students to be "ready to learn." Frankly, I think this is one of the major problems causing the so-called Achievement Gap.
