- What first attracted you to peace activism?
- I was once assaulted at knife point in my own home by an intruder, woken out of deep sleep by a man in my bedroom. After being ripped out of bed, a physical struggle and many miracles and about 2.5 hrs. of negotiation, he left my home wanting to shake my hand because I'd been so kind. I was not physically hurt.
Because I wasn't hurt, I immediately recognized the universe had provided an opportunity for me to discover the innate need for care and relationship that all people have; and that if we hold ourselves to peaceful and respectful behaviors, others will rise to do the same.
