Join us in downtown Kalamazoo for our annual children's art festival, Peace Pizzazz, on Saturday, May 7, 2014 from 1:30 - 4 p.m. at Bronson Park. This program is championed by the Peace Alliance - Kalamazoo in cooperation with art teachers from Kalamazoo Public Schools and others. The Peace Pizzazz is a non-violence education program for children in grades K-5. Art teachers are provided with a selected children's book relating to this year's theme to use in the classroom for reading. Then the children create an art project for display at the Peace Pizzazz. Music, entertainment, and a parade with Peace Mama, puppet, are included.
April 8, 2014 was a day of enlightenment for the Kalamazoo area Peace Alliance team and our invited partners: ISAAC, KNOW, WMU-Kalamazoo Peace Center and Griffin Place. We networked and met with Dan Kahn, National Field Director, and Sally Kaplan, Student Peace Alliance Coordinator from the Washington D.C. office of The Peace Alliance (TPA). We were informed about the status of the two bills before Congress that TPA is sponsoring. Then the strategy behind the new Peace Alliance Action Team and the advocacy approach to communicate with both the professional media and members of Congress was explained. Most importantly our community partners, peace and justice groups, were encouraged to participate in the development of our local Action Team. Thank you Dan and Sally. Your guidance and the new advocacy concept will help us to develop a community Action Team with our partners. Thanks so much. Bobbi Jo Gamache, Kalamazoo MI
thanks

Good morning -
I'm checking to see if/when Andrea Brenneke's talk from last Friday will be made available-I was unable to attend and heard it was great.
Many thanks - Dan
