A Meditation on Music for Marching

As I was watching the fireworks last night, my thoughts turned to the music played by marching bands on Independence Day. What kind of music will the bands be playing if we had a Department of Peace?



Here is "Music for Fireworks" by Handel to celebrate the end of the War of the Austrian Succession

and the signing of the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle in 1748.
