What's Lacking
So here I am. A team leader. Whenever I talk to a new group of volunteers I always say, "Make no mistake. This is a political action" I've got the politics down. Lobbying is after all a political action. I have found that there is something lacking in my approach to this. It is the very essence of The Peace Alliance. Compassion, pure and simple. City Council Resolutions
I was asked to write a blog on how to go about getting a city council resolution in your city/ town/ district.
Im with the New Mexico D.O.P. We currently have 3 city Council resolutions and 1 county commission resolution. We are introducing a resolution tomorrow night in a community and we will have a resolution passed in Santa Fe by summer.

Las Cruces City Council votes in favor of a DOP
Hello Everyone,
New Mexico DOP is really gaining ground. We, with our fearless leader down south, have gotten another City Council Resolution.That makes 3 resolutions from city councils and 1 from The grant County Commissioners.
We have been meeting with our state reps and our state senators, its always the same answer, "The state department takes care of peace issues in our country".sigh, so, the team in New mexico are going after all of our small govermental bodies, our next… Continue

As those of you who follow the news may know, Honduran President Manuel Zalaya was ousted in a military coup. He was flown to Costa Rica and Roberto Michelettti was sworn in as interim President until January 27, 2010, the end of Zelaya’s term.
Obama called the action a “coup”, and said “We believe that the coup was not legal and that President Zelaya remains the President of Honduras”.

Believing in Peace
Welcome to DoPeace!
It is so urgent and natural for us to gather and talk of peace. Why? I find in my daily life that I get discouraged sometimes, and wonder if humanity will ever get its act together. Youth violence is out of control since homicide is the second leading cause of death for 10-24 year olds, make that number one for African American youth.
This fact startles me everytime I say it or write it or hear it.
Our pop culture and daily media exposure… Continue

Not feeling Good about the Democrats
If the public option for health insurance is thrown out, I will have to admit I will feel a bit betrayed by the Democrats.
However, I shouldn't be surprised as I know that the real divide in Congress is not Democrat/Republican, it is Conservative v Progressive/Liberal. There a lot more conservatives than Progressives/Liberals. There are a lot of Conservative Democrats, bought and sold by the same corporations and people that have the Republicans bought and sold.
