Internaional Peace Week in MA
On September 19, at the Acton Jazz Cafe, in a Celebration of International Peace Week, State Senator James Eldridge read the Resolution which he and three State Representatives (Atkins, Koutoujian, Rushing), submitted for adoption. On Sept. 16, it was resolved, "That the Massachusetts General Court recognizes The Peace Alliance Educational Institute's Celebration of International Day of Peace", and that a copy of the Resolutions (from House and Senate) be forwarded to The Peace Alliance Educational Institute and to the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute of Boston. Also featured were Tina Chery, Director of the Boston Peace Institute, and Jenny Phillips, Producer of The Dhamma Brothers, filmed interviews of inmates in an Alabama prison, on the transforming effect of their 10-day lock-down in Vipassana meditation. Musicians of the Jazz Cafe demonstrated their regular soul to soul peacebuilding community.
