The Skog children watched this many times when they were growing up. They talked Senator Dayton into introducing the DOP bill when they were 6 & 12 years old.

I'm so grateful to have grown up in a time when civics was taught during the Saturday morning cartoons!
That is great! and although I can't remember even an inkling that I would ever be passionate enough to be involved in politics and the process, I DO remember the song. I appreciated the Representative's open response to the people! (Yes, it should be a law!)
Schoolhouse Rock demonstrates the simple/complex process in Congress. While watching, I kept seeing how easily the bill for a Department of Peace will be passed in Congress--then the President quickly signs it and our new secretary, Dennis Kucinich is appointed. Wow, what progress!!
I've been sharing this with folks on our blog and meetup site. It's a pretty simple explanation of how it works and sooo many appreciate the memories it brings back. =)
