Event Description

08/06/11 – LONGING FOR PEACE in Santa Rosa - 6:30 pm @ Glaser Center, 547 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa.  Join this Annual Interfaith Peace Fast, Hiroshima-Nagasaki Remembrance, and Community Potluck Dinner.  The event includes a talk by Takashi Tanemori, a Hibakusha (A-bomb survivor), the lighting of a peace flame from Hiroshima, Jewish sacred chanting, meditative shakuhachi flute music, and talks from different perspectives, including the parallels between the scapegoating of the Japanese-Americans in the 1940's and American Muslims today.  For more information or to volunteer with DOP tabling, contact Kendra Mon ().
